Why My Doctor Prescribed Dry Brushing

Joint pain due to a stressful situation lead my doctor to prescribe dry brushing as the solution!

DRY BRUSHING also called body brushing was prescribed to me by my Functional Medicine doctor and I now swear by this selfceare tool.

The method is said to date back to ancient Greece (of course!) Us Greek invented everything!), but similar practices have roots around the globe, from Japan to North America.

Why was this so important for my healing and literally a prescription from my Functional Medicine doctor Dr. Caroline Schier? Because it helps flush the body of toxins by improving blood flow and reducing inflammation.

I swear by the routine’s ability to drain lymph nodes, clear skin, and stimulate the tissues right under the skin so they’re firmer and more elastic.

It just feels so good!

  • How often? I dry brush 5-6 days a week.

  • I start at my feet and work my way up with long brushes always going towards the heart.

  • My routine is dry brushing after I get out of the shower and dry off. Then I have a homemade coconut tea-tree-oil that I moisturize with.

  • Use a less course for the face and more course for the body.

  • Shop my favorite set.
