I developed this recipe for you. It’s 100% addictive so please be careful. Slice it and keep it in the freezer. Turn it into your own. Play with it and have fun. As always don’t forget to smile while you cook. Love you so much ❤️ this recipe uses dates but I also want you to know that I’ve used prunes and it comes out so good. Like something you would eat in the French countryside.

Ingredients

Crust & Topping:⠀ ⠀

To Assemble

  1. Line a rectangle dish 8 by 6 with parchment paper and set aside.⠀

  2. To prepare the crust and the topping place the nuts in a food processor and process until they are ground into a meal. Add the dates, coconut oil, salt, and espresso. Process again until the dough sticks together when pressed between your fingers. If needed add one more date.⠀ ⠀ (at this point you could also add other flavorings like cinnamon, nutmeg, chili powder, vanilla extract, almond extract. You get the idea).

  3. Reserve one cup of this mixture for the crumble topping and press the rest of the dough evenly into the lined dish, then set aside. ⠀ ⠀

  4. Prepare the filling. In a medium bowl whisk together the cocoa powder, coconut oil, brain octane oil, and maple syrup until smooth. ⠀ ⠀

  5. Pour the chocolate filling over the crust and smooth it out with a small offset metal spatula. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of crumble over the top of the chocolate layer and use your hands to gently press the topping into the chocolate filling. Place in the freezer to set for at least two hours and then cut the bars and serve chilled.
